Product Description
A breakthrough approach for a good night's sleep--with no tears

There are two schools of thought for encouraging babies to sleep through the night: the hotly debated Ferber technique of letting the baby "cry it out," or the grin-and-bear-it solution of getting up from dusk to dawn as often as necessary. If you don't believe in letting your baby cry it out, but desperately want to sleep, there is now a third option, presented in Elizabeth Pantley's sanity-saving book The No-Cry Sleep Solution.

Pantley's successful solution has been tested and proven effective by scores of mothers and their babies from across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Based on her research, Pantley's guide provides you with effective strategies to overcoming naptime and nighttime problems. The No-Cry Sleep Solution offers clearly explained, step-by-step ideas that steer your little ones toward a good night's sleep--all with no crying.

Customer Reviews:
MIRACULOUS!!
If you're trying to decide whether to let baby cry it out, I would definitely encourage you to try reading Elizabeth Pantley's book first!! My 7 month old son had not exactly been a champion of the snooze. The longest stretch he had clocked was 6 1/2 hrs, but the norm was nightly stretches ranging from 45 min. (even shorter at the beginning of the night) to maybe 4 1/2 hrs, if we were LUCKY. We had tried a very sad 22 minutes of Ferberization two weeks ago, and our son was so stressed out in his crib for the next week- he didn't want to play in there in the morning like he usually would, and he seemed very upset. Not for us- though I don't pass judgement on people for whom it works. However, if you're not convinced about the cry it out strategy, I think you owe it to your baby to at least give the no cry methods a college try first. After getting this book and starting to apply the strategies on Wed, our son slept for NINE HOURS AND 40 MINUTES on Friday night!! Amazing. Good luck.

A life saver
I simply adore this book. It worked great with my tough little one.
I applied her advices and it worked very well for me.
No magic...required some persistence and....voila!! It worked :-)

Perfect!!
This is a seriously good read to get if you are having trouble getting your little one to sleep--and who isn't?? I loved the solutions and the tips inside. It was easy to read and comphrend and I think it was a lifesaver. I also liked The Baby Book: Everything You Need to Know About Your Baby from Birth to Age Two (Revised and Updated Edition).

Saved my sanity!!
The No Cry Sleep solution saved my sanity! After listening to everyone, including my doula (!), I went against my gut and allowed my 5 and a half month old son cry it out without pick ups for 3 nights. After sleepless nights, crying and being stressed to the point where I crumbled to pieces on my laundry room floor, my husband picked up your book.

After ONE NIGHT of using the phase method, my Sammy woke up 3 times but he stayed the whole night in his crib, woke up with less stress and NO CRYING (just whining) and I finally got deep sleep because I finally had the tools that matched up with my instincts.

Elizabeth, thank you so much for writing this book and helping me to feel like I have an ally in the "No, I'm not going to let my baby Cry It Out" Club.

Great, well-rounded book
Elizabeth Pantley does an excellent job at describing the reality of a baby's biological sleeping pattern and then suggesting ways to encourage babys to sleep longer sooner. I appreciate that she acknowledges that you have to customize what works for you, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
