Product Description
You no longer need to worry when you leave your baby or children at home with the nanny or babysitter. Now you can view your home and property over the internet while you are at work, on vacation or anytime you are away from the home! The CV0204DVR is the perfect nanny cam and home surveillance system.
The CV0204DVR is a complete recording system that allows you to view your security cameras online from any Internet enabled PC, anywhere in the world! This complete system comes with four outdoor cameras and can display all four (quad view) at the same time. Customize the recording and set a 24 hour recording schedule based on your preferences. You can choose to have the DVR record continuously during the day, then record only when motion is detected at night. And since each camera is equipped with night vision, you can view and record in total darkness!
This DVR can record four different camera views (quad view) simultaneously and play it back at a smooth 30 frames per second. During playback you can even display each camera in full screen or view all four without losing quality. Finding your recorded footage is a breeze. Just search for the time and date it was recorded and the file will be displayed. Everything is stored on the DVR's internal 160GB hard drive, allowing you a maximum of 150 days of continuous recording. The DVR can be set to overwrite old footage when the drive does run out of space, providing you with worry-free continuous recording, year after year.
The CV0204DVR also has a built-in Internet server for remote viewing. Just plug the DVR into your internet connection and set it up with the included software. Then simply type in your IP address to monitor your home or business remotely, from any internet-enabled computer in the world! You can even play back recorded footage, save picture or movie files to your computer, and more, all through a web browser. This versatile surveillance system is an ideal solution for anyone who wants
Run don't walk ![]()
Don't buy this system! I know my way around computers and networks and I know junk when I see it. First off the cameras are no better than a $20 webcam, in fact my $40 webcams are far better. The setup wasn't too bad although the manual leaves much out. You'll have to call or email SVAT to know how to do most of the advanced setup and changing master passwords. I really can't say much about the DVR itself because there isn't much. It's hard drive crashes consistently no matter what I do to the settings. The control interface reminds me of an Atari game console , oops , sorry Atari yours was better. You would think they could include a modern point and click user program instead of a 1980's cursor up/down, enter method. There isn't much to this system besides a cheap hard drive and 4 cameras that you can hardly recognize faces of people you know (never the less strangers). The night vision is a joke. I've read reviews that say it's not bad for the price. Is $599 really all that cheap these days for such technology? Bottom line is this system will only disapoint you. I've shelved it and am now using a 5 year old Xp pc with a few webcams and a free program. Save your money and your time, Run, don't walk from this one.
I install lots of these ![]()
I install video surveillance systems and a few years back I started seeing SVAT units. Since then I have installed many of them with no problems. They are not high end units but are perfect for home and small business. The DVR does generate ALOT of heat so needs good air circulation. The night vision is ok, 10 foot max without some other sort of ambient lighting but the cameras are good in low light so just a regular porchlight is plenty to light most of a yard and keep the camera from going to B/W mode. Does the job ![]()
Does the job. Would not buy a lesser system. Don't plan on getting any license plate numbers. Cameras with higher definition would do a much better job. Good basic system.
Good for the money, not for a Mac ![]()
Bought it and installed it. It will not transmit on the web through a Macintosh, but will still record. It takes very good night time video. It was easy to setup and manage. Kind of slow to go back and view something more than 14 hours back. One camera went bad and I just got off the chat with them and they are going to replace it. No problems, but it is going to take 2 weeks to get the replacement. But at least they were easy to deal with.
Worth the money, although if I had to do over again, I'd get one that was Mac friendly.
